This tutorial was written by Bhamman on 26th July 2019, and assumes a working knowledge of psp.
Any similarity to other works is unintentional and purely coincidental.

Traveller

Supplies needed:
Tube of choice - I am using Steampunk 24 by Verymany which you can get Here
Do not use this artwork without a licence.

Scrapkit - FTU Decadent Steampunk (10th line down) by Mizteeque Here
Super free kit. Thank you Tee!

Mask of your choice.
(I used Dragon_fly (Vivienne) 65 png version) Here

Font of choice.

Drop Shadow 2,3,55,10 or 12 Black.
Xero Filters.
My eraser brush settings: Default standard round brush;
Size: 50; Hardness: 50; Step: 20; Density: 100; Rotation: 0; Opacity: 25 or 30.
Don’t forget to sharpen or use the unsharp feature when re-sizing/rotating your elements/tube.
Except where noted I am working from back to front for my layering.
I am using PSP x2. Some of the effects may not be available in earlier versions.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Open blank canvas 600 x 600 px, floodfill white.
Open mask and tube and minimise for now.
Open paper 15, copy/paste into canvas, resize 77%, copy and paste mask 65, re-size to fit about 10px smaller then the canvas and sharpen.
On the mask layer: Select all/Float/Defloat/Invert and then move to the paper layer and hit delete.
Close mask layer for now. Duplicate and merge down to form background.
Open ele 47, copy/paste into canvas resize 60%, position top left. Duplicate/Adjust/Brightness and Contrast/Threshold at 126.
Change blend mode to Overlay and reduce opacity to 25%. Merge down with the original and apply the drop shadow.
Ele 8 copy/paste into canvas, re-size 85%, position bottom of the canvas. Drop shadow.
Now for some work on the tube ……
Open tube, copy/paste into canvas, duplicate and close off original, re-size to suit (I used 55% with my tube)
and position to the right side of the canvas. Duplicate twice and close these off for now.
Open mask layer: Select all/Float/Defloat/Invert and then move to the bottom tube layer and hit delete.
Close mask layer.
Open the next copy up and make a rectangular selection around your tube, invert, and delete, deselect.
Then using your eraser brush delete the tube around the edges at the bottom and around the head.
See my finished tag for reference.
Open up the top copy of the tube and apply Xero filter Radiance at default settings, reduce opacity to 40 or 50%.
Then using your eraser brush erase away the bottom of the tube and any other bits you wish, leaving the filter effect
on the head/shoulders/hair of the tube.
Drop shadow the bottom copy and erase any stray bits of drop shadow.
Time to add some more elements, see completed tag above for placement.
I used the following:
Ele 7 copy/paste into canvas, re-size 65%, duplicate, mirror, move this copy up a little. Drop shadow both.
Ele 15 copy/paste into canvas, re-size 30%. Drop shadow
Ele 4 copy/paste into canvas, re-size 37%. Drop shadow.
Ele 10 copy/paste into canvas, re-size 43%. Drop shadow.
Ele 14 copy/paste into canvas, re-size 37%. Drop shadow.
Ele 30 copy/paste into canvas, re-size 30%. Drop shadow.
Check on how it looks and make any final adjustments, add copyright and licence information
then close off white background layer and add names as required.
I used font Antique Android with a drop shadow of 2, 2, 55, 4.
Export as png on transparent background.
Thanks for trying this tutorial
